Bananagrams

So I started playing this little game last night at my friend's place and thought might as well review it.

For those of you who have never heard nor played this game, 144 letters are unloaded from a conveniently packed banana, and flipped upside-down into the middle of a table. This little pile of tiles is known as the bunch. Each player (we played with five) then takes 21 tiles; tiles still upside-down. A player says split and all player flip their tiles and simultaneously arrange them to create their own crosswords, which can be revised at any point in the game. If someone can't find a use for a letter they can say dump, put that letter back into the bunch and take 3 letters. When some is able to use all their letters, they say peel and all players take one from the bunch. The object of the game is to use all your letters first with nothing remaining in the bunch.

Anyways, it was a blast really. When compared to Scrabble (which is also awesome) Bananagrams is great because there's no keeping record of points, it's nicely packed in a neat banana case for easy transportation, and you can have more then four people playing at once.

All of us had a terrible vocabulary consisting mainly of dirty words so the game didn't run all too great but it was still fun nonetheless. If you can get your hands on this game don't hesitate to do so!

D I S T R I C T 9 / / /

Not Cloverfield!

Many people are wondering why I wasn't too into District 9, and the reason for this was simply because I had really high expectations from all the descriptions everyone else was giving me. I was really expecting a Cloverfield type deal where the entire thing was first-person non-stop chaos, but I was saddened with the half 1st half 3rd-person. NONETHELESS! The movie was brilliant if you haven't heard much about it. There was a good storyline, lots of interesting scenarios, and the ending will have you leaving the movies speaking of nothing but the various weapons. It takes you from cubicles, to the slums of the "Prawns", to against the odds breaking into major corporations, and into weapon systems of crazy-awesome Mechas. The machine scenes were most definitely my favorite parts. Also, I liked how the main character wasn't your typical hero that would swoop in flawlessly and save the day. There were a couple times when I thought "Jeeze, this guy is a major douch-bag" and just wanted to kill him and eat his guts. Pretty much.

The only downside I saw was that it moved at a really slow paste; lots and lots of building up to the ending, but maybe I'm exaggerating. You probably won't be disappointed so grab a ticket, sit back, and watch the bodies explode.

Here's a couple mad beats to get you on your toes.

Kick off

So I'm beginning to get the feel of this blogging deal but I'm unsure of what direction I want to take this. Here are my options:

Make this a music blog. The problem with this is that I can't find a decent file-hosting site so I end up stealing other people's hyperlinks which would probably get 404'd within a couple weeks of their posting.

Make this a life blog. I COULD tell you everything on my mind but I think that would leave me too exposed for judgement sooooooo that's probably a no. Maybe every now and then.

Photography/Music blog? I like this idea. However, already going over the Music issue, the photography issue is that I don't have my own camera therefore, I'd be posting new picture's every couple months....so that's a fail.

Maybe I can just review things and post up free music. That works for me.
